Submit a Speaker Proposal for the 2027 SEREMS Symposium

The SEREMS Symposium has always been more than an educational event — it is a gathering of our Southeast Alaska EMS, healthcare, fire, public safety, and community responder family. Many of our presenters have been part of this work for more than a decade, helping strengthen education, connection, and care across our region.

As we begin planning the 2027 SEREMS Symposium in Sitka, we welcome speaker proposals from both returning presenters and new voices. Please complete the form below to share your proposed session topic, abstract/executive summary, and presentation details. Speakers are welcome to submit more than one proposal if they have multiple topics that may be applicable. The SEREMS planning team will review submissions as the agenda develops throughout August and September.

Educational Content & CME Planning

SEREMS receives accredited CME/CE through the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP Provider #15451, and through the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) for physicians. EMS CME is issued through the State of Alaska EMS office. To help us maintain high-quality, relevant, and authentic educational sessions, please complete the following questions with as much detail as possible.

Faculty Logistics, Reimbursement, and CME
SEREMS is grateful to the presenters who help make our symposium possible. For invited symposium faculty, SEREMS typically covers reasonable travel costs, lodging, and per diem at the State of Alaska rate, currently $60 per day.
SEREMS does not usually provide presenter honoraria. In special circumstances, an honorarium may be considered. This is most likely for pre-symposium courses, specialty trainings, or sessions that require significant additional preparation, credentialing, or outside expertise. When an honorarium is approved, SEREMS may charge a separate participant fee to help cover that cost.
Presenters may also be eligible to receive CME or continuing education credit for their teaching time, consistent with applicable accreditation requirements.
Final travel, lodging, per diem, CME/CE eligibility, and any honorarium arrangements will be aranaged and approved by SEREMS in advance.
