Anjela Johnston
Executive Director
Anjela moved to Alaska on a bluebird-sky day in April, 1997 and started with SEREMS in 2006 as a temporary training coordinator. She loves Southeast Alaska, muddy XtraTuffs and walking in the rain. She loves working with community EMS departments and carries Dr. Copass’s inspirations as a guiding tool. You will find her coordinating trainings at our annual symposium, setting up challenging remote classes and making sure we do it with the utmost integrity along the way.

Thor Christianson
Resource Manager
Thor Christianson is a life long Alaskan who has worked at SEREMS since 1999. He has been an EMT since 1997 and an EMT-3 since 1998. He currently runs with the Sitka Fire Department. He has been responsible for the Code Blue purchases that have put ambulances in most of the communities in Southeast Alaska. He is Training Center Faculty for the AHA and an active AHA instructor. He lives on his island with his wife and two daughters.
Chaundell Piburn
ETT Program & Team Support
Chaundell Piburn is a resident of the Prince of Wales Island for the past 22 years. She is married with one amazing son, they have hailed as their king. She has been in the Emergency Services Field for the past 25 years, first as a Dispatcher for the Federal Protective Services, then moving into EMS. She is an EMT 3, EMT Instructor, and CPR Instructor. She loves working with Southeast EMS providers.
Virgil Davis
Finance Manger
Virgil has been with SEREMS since 2016. He loves Southeast Region EMS volunteers and is always happy to help our local departments.
